The nominees are out for the Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards, and Prince Albert’s Donny Parenteu is leading the pack with ten nominations, including Fan’s choice, male volcalist of the year, song of the year, and country person of the year.
Parenteau is also up for the aboriginal album of the year in this year’s junos.
The four artists with the second most SCMA nominations are Codie Prevost, Jay Semko, Samara Yung, and Will Ardell. Each has a chance to take home five awards.
In total there are thirty pieces of hardware up for grabs, including a few for the stations across the province that deliver home grown talent across the airwaves. Two Saskatoon radio stations are up for radio station of the year in a major market, and two local DJs are up for the on air personality of the year.
The Saskatchewan Country Music Awards will be given out April 27 in Saskatoon.
