One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a shooting on a west-central Saskatchewan First Nation.

RCMP say officers responded just before midnight Monday to a report of a gun being fired at a home on Little Pine First Nation.

Two adults were found injured in the residence when police arrived. One was pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken to hospital with what Mounties describe as serious injuries.

Investigators are searching for 40-year-old Sheldon Kyle Thunderblanket in connection to the incident. The 5-6, 209-pound aboriginal man may be on the Sweetgrass First Nation, but RCMP have to confirm his whereabouts, police said in a media release.

He may be armed and is considered dangerous. He should not be approached, according to RCMP.
