No one was injured at a house fire in Saskatoon’s Sutherland area, the city’s fire department says.

Crews from four fire stations were called shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday to the blaze at 417 109th Street West.

Firefighters entered the house into heavy smoke and intense heat, and were able to extinguish the fire despite the confined space.

The Saskatoon Fire Department says damage from the fire is estimated at $225,000.

It also confirmed the family who lives in the home was in Ontario at the time of the fire. People working across the street reported the blaze.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
