The Nipawin Hospital is closed to the public, and the ER is on bypass after the facility received three threats of possible explosives in the building.
The first call was received at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday from a woman who claimed there were explosives in the building. Police searched the hospital, but didn’t find anything suspicious.
Several hours later, a second call came in from someone claiming they wanted to harm themselves.
Around 6:00 Friday morning, a third threatening call was received.
Police believe all the calls came from the same cell phone, and came from somewhere in Nipawin.
The investigation continues.
