Saskatoon’s downtown skyline will have a new addition.

The Yellow Quill First Nation has announced plans to build a five-storey, 75,000-square-foot office building on a downtown property it already owns.

The site, which is currently used as a parking lot, is located at Fourth Avenue and 20th Street East. It is next door to the First Nations Bank building, which is also owned by Yellow Quill.

Construction is planned for the spring of 2013 and will include underground parking.

First Nations Bank plans to occupy one-quarter of the space in the new building, with the rest of the space expected to be leased by business and resource-based companies.
