New technology could help in the search for a missing Prince Albert woman.

June Ann Johnson has been missing since 1979, and was last seen at what used to be the Marlboro Hotel. When she didn't return home after several days, her daughter Bonnie Johnson reported her missing. Now Johnson is hoping advances in technology might be able to help police locate her mother's body.

It has been hard for Johnson to explain her mother's disappearance. "It's not like your parent died of a heart attack or was in an accident. There's nothing," said Johnson.

Police started digging up land around Little Red River Park early in November hoping to find evidence to link to June Johnson's disappearance.

Historic cases such as Johnson's are commonly revisited over the years when the technology or evidence has changed to allow new insights in the case.
