The federal government has earmarked just over $900,000 for a new investment at P.O.S Biosciences in Saskatoon.

The investment will help Saskatchewan farmers develop product ingredients from crops through special distillation equipment.

With the new equipment, farmers can purify ingredients from crops grown on the prairies. Client companies at P.O.S will be able to produce value-added extracts on a commercial scale with a goal to gain entry to new markets.

The equipment is expected to be operational by fall 2013.
