The trial for a 34 year old Melfort woman accused of attempting to kill two children is no longer necessary. It was scheduled to begin Tuesday at the Court of Queen’s Bench but the woman changed her plea to guilty.

In the fall of 2010, she was found in a running vehicle, with the two children inside, in an abandoned building about 14 km north of Melfort, in the RM of Willow Creek,. Police were called when the scene was discovered by people in the area.

The children were unharmed in the incident. Due to a publication banned, neither they nor the accused can be named. She'll make her next court appearance on January 15th when she is scheduled to be sentenced for two counts of attempted murder. In the meantime, she remains free on bail.
