John Thronberg
Born and raised on a farm south of Moose Jaw, John took a roundabout route to the Senior Producer's chair on CTV Morning Live Saskatoon.
Originally intending to study artificial intelligence systems at the University of Saskatchewan, he became engrossed in theatre. Active both on and back stage, John founded a film company, Arc Productions. After selling the company to his business partner, he had stints at Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival; the U of S media department; the Gemini-award-winning stop motion series, Wapos Bay; and at CBC Saskatoon as a cameraman and editor.
John finally made the leap to CTV in 2012 as a camera man and joined the CTV Morning team as the graphics operator in 2013. After two decades spent behind the camera and on stage, he made the jump to chase producer later that year. He was named senior producer of the morning show in May of 2018.
John also sits on the Saskatoon Library Board.
