Ken Cheveldayoff, Saskatoon-Willowgrove MLA, will announce a bid to be the Saskatchewan Party leader.

Cheveldayoff told CTV he is “finishing up” his position as the Parks, Culture and Sport minister this week.

He is planning to make the announcement of his intention to run for Saskatchewan premier by Monday.

Meadow Lake MLA Jeremy Harrison and Social Services Minister Tina Beaudry-Mellor have entered the leadership race.

Two weeks ago, Premier Brad Wall announced that he's stepping away from politics after 10 years leading the province. He said his province and the party will benefit from a fresh perspective.
