A portable heater has been determined as the cause of a fire that destroyed a Saskatoon garage Sunday afternoon.
Heavy smoke and flame were showing from the detached garage at 3822 Centennial Drive when firefighters arrived just before 2:45 p.m., Saskatoon Fire Department said in a news release.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control after approximately 20 minutes, but were not able to extinguish the blaze for almost one hour.
Contents of the garage, including a vehicle and motorcycles, hampered the efforts of firefighters.
No one was injured and damage is estimated at $70,000.
