One person is dead after a crash on Highway 219 and Grasswood Road Tuesday morning.

The collision happened at approximately 11 a.m. and involved an SUV and a station wagon. MD Ambulance said the driver of one of the vehicles was an 85-year-old woman. She was pronounced dead on the way to Royal University Hospital.

A 65-year-old man and 67-year-old woman in the other vehicle were taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Two dogs were also injured in the crash and animal control officers responded to the scene.
