RCMP Underwater Recovery Team have completed an investigation at the scene of a plane crash that happened on Thursday at Buss Lake. They returned to La Ronge Friday night, at the same time the remaining three victims of the plane crash were also returned to La Ronge.
RCMP confirmed the deaths of five people after the float plane crashed approximately 200 kilometers north of La Ronge.
Due to the remote location of the Lake, it took RCMP 3 days to recover and identify all five bodies. Friends of some of the victims have created a Facebook memorial page for the victims.
The five victims have been positively identified and next of kin have been notified. The victims are described as:
The pilot was a 32 year old male from Sherbrooke, Quebec.
44 year old male from Senlac, Sask.
40 year old male from Prince Albert area, Sask.
21 year old male from Prince Albert, Sask.
15 year old male from Prince Albert area, Sask
Police have been using a float plane themselves to reach the remote location, which is over 500 kilometers northeast of Saskatoon.
