A tentative agreement has been reached between Saskatoon’s transit union and the city.
The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 615 announced the tentative agreement Friday, stating members are set to vote on the contract Tuesday.
Transit workers have been without a collective agreement for four years. Pension has been the highest point of contention between the two sides, with the city locking out bus drivers for one month in 2014 and transit workers more recently taking work-to-rule job action.
The city says the union’s job action will continue until the agreement is ratified. The contract, if accepted by the union membership, requires city council approval before it can be finalized.
Details on the tentative contract have not yet been released.
