Miriam Valdes-Carletti joined CTV Saskatoon as a video journalist in 2021. She has a passion for reporting on human interest stories and issues affecting BIPOC communities.

Miriam previously came from CTVNews.ca as a digital content editor. On the national digital team she covered major news events such as the Ukrainian-Iranian plane crash, the Nova Scotia shooting, the 2020 U.S. presidential election and the COVID-19 pandemic.

She has a wealth of multimedia experience having previously worked at CTV’s Your Morning as a news writer and production coordinator, an associate web producer at The Marilyn Denis Show and an editorial assistant at CityNews.

Her love for news came from delivering newspapers as a child raised in Niagara Falls. She then started her journalism career at YourTV Niagara where she was a volunteer reporter in high school and university.

Miriam holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University. During her time at Ryerson she won the Canadian Press/Eric Murray Award from RTDNA Canada in 2017.
