Three livestock shot dead on a farm west of Carmel, Sask., has RCMP searching for an unknown number of suspects.

Cst. Marc Thibodeau of the Humboldt RCMP said that sometime between Thursday evening and Friday evening a suspect or suspects drove into a farmyard and shot and killed at least two cows and one pig.

He wasn’t sure if any livestock were stolen during the incident and said some animals on the property may have been shot but not killed.

Tire impressions left at the scene are that of a 4x4 truck possibly with BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, Thiboadeau added.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Humboldt RCMP at 306-682-2535 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Carmel is about 18 kilometres west of Humboldt.
