Hockey legend Victor Lynn has passed away.

Born in Saskatoon in 1925, Lynn started his NHL career playing one game for the New York Rangers in 1943, but was quickly shuffled to the Indianapolis Capitals of the AHL in 1944.

In 1947, Lynn joined the Toronto Maple Leafs for another chance at NHL glory. He got it when he met Howie Meeker and Ted Kennedy and became part of the famous KLM line. Together the Leafs won three straight Stanley cups with Lynn joining as the number one line.

After his successful playing career in the NHL, Lynn returned to Saskatoon to lead the Quakers hockey club to seven Saskatchewan senior championships and four Western Canadian titles.

He was inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame in 1987, and the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.

Funeral services will be held Friday December 10th from the Mayfair United Church in Saskatoon.
