A 35-year-old Saskatchewan man was arrested Wednesday on several child pornography charges following an investigation by a police child-exploitation unit.

Members of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit alongside Carrot River RCMP arrested James Patrick Lalonde after executing a search warrant in Zenon Park, Sask.

Lalonde was charged with accessing child pornography, possessing child pornography and making available child pornography. The offences date back to November 2013.

He is expected to appear in Carrot River provincial court March 6.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is made up of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. The unit investigates crimes involving the abuse and exploitation of children on the Internet.

Zenon Park is about 35 kilometres south of Carrot River.
