Hundreds of people headed out on the Meewasin Trail Sunday for a good cause.

The 27th annual Multiple Sclerosis Walk to raise awareness and money for a disease that disrupts part of the nervous system. Saskatchewan has the highest rate of MS in Canada.

"Everything provides hope to those living with MS. However, we do have two new MS specialists in the province where we didn't have them a year ago,” said Maggie Lens, manager of development with the Saskatchewan Division of the MS Society of Canada. “Those are some really exciting opportunities that allow our patients here to not only receive clinical care, but also receive and be a part of research opportunities."

This year’s walk raised more than $150,000.
