A 34-year-old Humboldt man has been sentenced to 16 years in jail for trying to stab his estranged wife to death.
Brandon Carelse was charged with attempted murder in the April 2011 stabbing at a home on Seventh Street in Humboldt.
The woman survived the attack, but had to undergo surgery.
