A family on the Hatchet Lake First Nation lost their dog and all their personal belongings after a fire completely destroyed their home last week.
The Hatchet Lake Fire Department and Wollaston Lake RCMP were called to a house fire shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, March 27. The house was completely engulfed in flames when crews arrived and completely destroyed by the time crews extinguished the blaze.
The home owner and family were not in the residence at the time of the fire. The family's dog was unable to escape the home and died in the flames.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire and ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Wollaston Lake RCMP.
