Clay Mazurkewich plead guilty to weapons charges in Saskatoon Tuesday.

Mazurkewich, who recently ran for mayor of Saskatoon, apologized for the public for his mistake. He pled guilty to having two replica air soft pistols while he was at the Coachman bar in December.

While the crown was seeking a $1,000 fine, the judge demanded only $750 and ordered the pistols be forfeited.

According to Mazurkewich, he was on his way to a friend’s acreage for target practice when he stopped by the bar and forgot to leave the guns in his car.

“A lot of people make mental errors but I got one that got me in the back. I’m not going to say I didn’t have a pellet gun on me. I did. I’m sorry to the public,” Mazurkewich said.
