An elevator in Tramping Lake burned down Saturday.

Kerrobert fire and rescue responded to the fire at around 1:00 p.m. The department said they had the fire under control by 8:00 p.m., and were assisted by the Unity and Wilkie fire departments.

Crews remained on scene to put out hot spots until 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

“Within 90 (minutes), it was a pile of rubble. Was on my way to dump our last load of peas in it,” said elevator owner Brian Kohlman in a tweet.

Kerrobert fire and rescue said the elevator is a total loss, but there is no estimated cost of damage at this time.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
