The Saskatoon Fire Department says the second of two suspicious packages delivered in the city Monday is also not hazardous.
The package contained what police said appeared to be a white, powdery substance and sent emergency crews and a hazardous materials team to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre at about 12:40 p.m.
It was deemed not dangerous after testing, the fire department tweeted hours later.
The call was the second suspicious package report within a few-hour period.
Emergency crews responded to the first call — also involving what police said appeared to be a white, powdery substance — at about 10:30 a.m. The package, since deemed not hazardous, was delivered to a business on the 200 block of Fourth Avenue South.
Police are investigating.
