A former youth detention worker in Saskatoon is going to jail after pleading guilty to selling marijuana at Kilburn Hall.

James Dean Heidt worked at the custodial centre for young offenders until the middle of 2009, when he was fired.

Yesterday, a Saskatoon judge sentenced Heidt to six months in jail for trafficking and breach of trust.

Heidt's lawyer, Kevin Hill, says his client's impulsive decision has ruined his life.
