Alberta man charged in connection with multiple house fires

One person has been charged in connection with multiple residential fires in Fairview, Alta., last year.

Emergency crews were called after the fires broke out on 108 Avenue in the town 550 kilometres northwest of Edmonton on April 25.

On Tuesday, a 48-year-old Fairview man was charged with:

• arson for fraudulent purpose;
• two counts of arson: recklessly cause damage by fire;
• warrant (Fairview): possession of weapon for dangerous purpose; and
• warrant (Fairview): uttering threats.

He remains in custody with a court date of Feb. 12.
