It'll soon cost more to keep your car on the road. SGI is proposing a nearly four per cent increase on the cost of your plates.
SGI says there are many contributing factors for the increase.
The company says last year there were unforeseen weather challenges, such as hail damage to vehicles. And a lot of snow and ice made for slippery road conditions for drivers, resulting in more collisions.
Injury costs are also being impacted by rising wages in the province, and poor markets have also come into play.
