Kevin Waugh has taken the Saskatoon-Grasswood seat with more than 40 per cent of the vote.
The Conservative candidate and longtime Saskatoon sportscaster defeated NDP candidate Scott Bell, Liberal Party candidate Tracy Muggli and Green Party candidate Mark Bigland-Pritchard to win the new urban riding.
Bell finished with 30.2 per cent of the vote while Muggli and Bigland-Pritchard managed 26.4 and1.8 per cent, respectively.
A total of 46,085 people voted in the riding.
Waugh won the Conservative nomination in July after notably beating out cabinet minister Lynne Yelich, who has held a seat in Parliament since 2000.
Yelich represented the Blackstrap riding, which was dissolved with the new electoral map.
The Saskatoon portion of the riding became Saskatoon-Grasswood while the rural area switched to Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan.
Saskatoon-Grasswood is one of three new urban ridings in the city and six new urban ridings in the province.
