The future of “Merry Christmas” greetings on Saskatoon Transit buses is on the agenda when city council’s executive committee meets Monday.

The committee, made up of city councillors, will discuss whether the messages should he removed from city buses.

The issue arose after Saskatoon resident Ashu Solo complained last December that the messages were inappropriate and discriminatory.

The cultural diversity and race relations committee met in early February with hopes of coming up with a recommendation for council.

It was not able to make a decision and voted to refer the matter back to the executive committee.
