A Canada-wide warrant is out for a suspect in Saskatoon’s fourth homicide of the year.

Miguel Gomez is wanted for second-degree murder in connection to the stabbing death of a 22-year-old man over the weekend, Saskatoon police say.

Officers responded at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday to a call about a fight in a parking lot at Assiniboine Drive and Warman Road. Two men, the 22-year-old and an 18-year-old, were found suffering from stab wounds, according to police.

The two were taken to hospital. The 22-year-old underwent surgery, but died just after 9:30 a.m. The 18-year-old was treated for his injuries and released.

Gomez, 20, is described as 5-9 and 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has small tattoos on his cheeks — one underneath each eye.

He did not know the victim prior to the incident, according to police.

He’s also wanted on two counts of breaching probation and should not be approached, police say.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
