Homicide investigation underway after man found dead in downtown Calgary

Calgary police investigate after a man was found dead on Fifth Street S.W. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025.

A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead early Sunday morning.

At around 5:20 a.m. police responded to reports of a man unresponsive on a sidewalk on the 700 block of Fifth Street S.W.

Police say the man’s death is suspicious.
