The Saskatchewan Roughriders are once again teaming up with Canadian Blood Services and Sask Energy.
This is the third year the trio has partnered for their Bleed Green campaign. The blood drive kicked off Thursday at Griffith’s Stadium. The season-long initiative is designed to raise awareness about the need for blood donations in Saskatchewan.
"I know it's a tough prospect getting jabbed with a needle and giving your own blood,” said Mitch Bossaer. He’s a cancer survivor who understands firsthand the importance of giving blood.
“It's not the easiest thing but if you can find it in yourself I definitely say you can do it, because you have the ability to save lives, you really do,” he said.
