A second candidate has thrown her name into the ring for the Ward 3 by-election. Ann Iwanchuk, wife of NDP MLA Andy Iwanchuk, announced her candidacy Thursday morning at the Shaw Centre.
Iwanchuk has lived for 11 years in the Ward 3 area, which covers Fairhaven, Parkridge, Pacific Heights, Confederation Park, and Blairmore. She works as a national staff representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees, and spent more than 15 years as a city hall employee.
The only other official candidate for Ward 3 is Derek Rope, the Director of Housing for the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations.
The by-election will be held on October 19, with advanced polls held at the Shaw Centre on October 8 and 15.
