Redistribution

The northwest corner of Blackstrap becomes this riding with the remainder becoming a west section and a northern section of Moose Jaw—Lake Centre—Lanigan. Also gains a bit of territory from Saskatoon-Humboldt.

Electoral History

Saskatoon first was a riding in 1907. In 1987, redistribution produced Saskatoon-Dundurn in this area which went NDP in 1988 with Ron Fisher. In 1993 it went to Morris Bodnar, a Liberal.
The Blackstrap riding was created in 1996, mostly from Saskatoon-Dundurn with some of Moose Jaw-Lake Centre.
Bodnar lost Blackstrap in 1997 to a Reform MP, Allan Kerpan, who had held the now defunct Moose Jaw-Lake Centre one term. Kerpan quit in 2000 and Lynne Yelich took over, with big margins in 2004. 2006 and 2008.
