A woman was saved from the river in Saskatoon Sunday afternoon by a couple of good Samaritans.

It happened while the woman was fishing near the weir. She was pulled in and swept down the river.

Rescue crews scrambled to save her after someone called 911.

People on the banks reported seeing the woman struggling to keep her head above water – then she seemed to disappear.

People were fearing the worst when a couple of men on the bank managed to get to her and pull her to safety.

She was checked by paramedics, but other than being shaken up, she appeared to be fine.
