A late-night shooting on Avenue H South is now being treated as a homicide.
Police were called to a residence on the 600 block of the street around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Officers blocked off the area after some people fled to a nearby home.
They found 28-year-old Jaron Tyler Jahnke with a life-threatening wound to his chest. Jahnke was taken to surgery, but he died early Friday morning in hospital.
No one has been arrested, but police are still investigating.
