A professor at the University of Saskatchewan has been named an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Jim Miller, a Professor Emertius of History, was one of 13 Canadians to receive the honour on December 26th. Miller’s been awarded for his years of study on the evolving relationships between Aboriginal people and later settlers in Canada.

Other Canadians receiving appointments in the Order of Canada include current Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney and former NHL player Sheldon Kennedy.

The Order of Canada recognizes the outstanding achievement, dedication to the community, and service to the nation.
