Another high-ranking official at the University of Saskatchewan is gone.

The university announced Friday that Barb Daigle, associate vice-president of human resources, was leaving her position.

“Barb Daigle… and I have come to a mutually-agreed decision for her to leave her position with the University of Saskatchewan, as of today July 25, 2014,” said Greg Fowler, vice-president of finance and resources, in a media release.

“After considerable discussion and reflection, Barb and I both agree this is in the best interests of the university and for Barb’s own career goals.”

Daigle worked on campus for over 12 years, according to the university.

Cheryl Carver will fill the role of acting human resources vice-president as the university works to permanently replace Daigle, Fowler said.

“I expect to fill this position permanently within the next year.”

Daigle becomes the fourth high-ranking university official to leave their position — or announce their departure — over the last few months.

Former president Ilene Busch-Vishniac was fired in May, just days after the resignation of former provost Brett Fairbairn.

Both departures came after the university made national headlines for the firing and re-hiring of a tenured professor who spoke out against a campus-wide cost-cutting measure.

Board chair Susan Milburn will also be leaving her position soon, the university confirmed July 19. The long-serving Board of Governors member will step down once a successor is elected in October.
