Upgrades to two major Saskatoon intersections will soon be underway, the city says.

Work on the intersection of 22nd Street and Diefenbaker Drive will begin Monday, and upgrades to the Warman Road and 51st Street intersection are set to start Sept. 6.

Repairs include changes to medians as well as the addition of left-hand turn bays. Street lights will also be moved and culverts will be modified to improve water flow, the city says.

City officials hope the work reduces traffic congestion, increases accessibility and improves safety at the intersections.

Work on both intersections is scheduled to be finished the week of Nov. 10.
