Two women are in hospital with serious, but non-fatal injuries after a collision south of Saskatoon on Sunday morning.
At 11:30 a.m., Saskatoon RCMP were called to a collision on highway 11 approximately 18 kilometres south of Saskatoon. A RCMP collision analyst, Dundurn fire department, first responders and MD ambulance also attended the scene.
According to RCMP, a blue Dodge Dakota drove east from a grid road across the two south bound lanes of Highway 11. A south bound white Lexus collided with the Dakota, rolled several times, and then came to a stop in the center of the two south bound lanes.
A 66-year-old woman and a 38-year-old woman were extricated from the Lexus, and transported to Royal University Hospital with serious, but non-fatal injuries.
The two occupants of the Dakota, a 30-year-old male driver and a 27-year-old woman, were not injured. The man has been charged with leaving a stop sign before safe to do so.
The highway is open and there are no restrictions. RCMP are still investigating.
