The Saskatoon Police Service have two people in custody following a street robbery Friday afternoon.

It happened around 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Spadina Crescent East. Police said a man and a woman approached another man and punched him several times, before robbing him of his cell phone.

Another man known to the victim intervened and was also struck by the suspects.

In a release, police said the suspects fled on foot and were later arrested at Sixth Avenue and 24th Street.

A 19-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from Saskatoon will be charged with Robbery and appear before a Justice of the Peace on Saturday.

Both victims in the crime, a 27-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, received minor injuries but did not require any medical attention according to police.
