Two men from Canoe Lake Cree First Nation are dead after an apparent murder-suicide.

RCMP responded to a call of a gun discharged in a home on the First Nation around 2:45 p.m. Saturday. A 27-year-old man was found dead at the scene from a gunshot wound, police said in a news release.

Around 4:50 p.m., a 30-year-old man police believed to be involved was found with a gunshot wound in a treed area on the First Nation. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Autopsies will be performed on both men in Saskatoon sometime this week.

According to police, the two men were known to each other. Their names won’t be released and police are not seeking any other suspects in the case.
