Two men are in police custody after a violent kidnapping at a party in Saskatoon during the weekend.

A 26-year-old man was beaten, stabbed and robbed at gunpoint while at a party Friday in the 900 block of Preston Avenue. When the suspects threatened to shoot the victim he convinced them that he had money at another location, Saskatoon police said in a news release.

While driving to that location the gun went off inside the vehicle, just missing the victim who took the opportunity to escape from the vehicle and run to the police station.

The suspects fled the area in the victim's vehicle. The stolen vehicle was later abandoned and set ablaze at 11th Street and Circle Drive.

A 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have been arrested and charged with attempted murder, robbery with violence, forcible confinement. The Saskatoon police major crimes unit is investigating.
