Two men are dead and three others are in hospital after an early morning rollover near Meadow Lake, Sask.

Around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, RCMP were called to a vehicle rollover approximately three kilometres north of Meadow Lake on Highway 4.

When police arrived, the vehicle was in a field about 60 to 70 metres east of the roadway.

A 22-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl were found injured inside the vehicle, while a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were found nearby – police believed they were ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. A 19-year-old man, who was also ejected from the vehicle, was later located nearby by an unmanned aerial vehicle.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, and the 19-year-old male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The three injured passengers were taken to hospital.

Autopsies have been ordered for both men and will occur next week.

Police said all individuals were from the Meadow Lake area.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of an RCMP collision reconstructionist.
