Two women are dead after separate highway collisions Sunday.

One woman died in a Saskatoon hospital after the vehicle she was driving failed to stop at a stop sign at Wanuskewin Road and Highway 11 and collided with another vehicle that was northbound on the highway.

Rescue crews had to be freed from her vehicle after the collision. She was taken to hospital where she later died.

The driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.

In a second crash Sunday, a 60-year-old Saskatoon woman died after the mini-van she was driving sideswiped a semi-trailer late Sunday afternoon on Highway 14, about 15 kilometres west of Perdue.

Police say the van struck the rear axle of the semi-trailer unit.

The woman was transported to Biggar Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the semi-trailer was not injured.

And early Monday morning, a 66-year-old woman and a five-year-old girl were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a collision just after midnight at Idylwyld Drive and Marquis Drive.

Saskatoon police said the vehicle driven by the woman was travelling southbound in the northbound lanes of Idylwyld Drive when it collided with a semi-trailer unit.
