A man and woman in their 60s are dead after a train and truck crashed in west-central Saskatchewan.

RCMP responded to the collision, about four kilometres southeast of Tako, Sask., around 11 a.m. Wednesday, after receiving a complaint from CN Rail police. A traffic reconstructionist and coroner were also called.

Mounties say the truck, travelling north, was hit by the westbound train.

The man, 66, and woman, 62, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were from the Unity area, according to police.

Their names have not been released.

Officers are still investigating the crash.
