A three-year-old boy who died when while riding his bike Sunday evening is being remembered as a happy child.

Kreestyn Bear was killed when the bike he was riding collided with a trailer that was being pulled by a truck on Carrother’s Court, a residential cul-de-sac in the Dundonald neighbourhood, at approximately 7 p.m.

“(He was) just full of energy and grabbed the heart of anybody he met. All he wanted to do was play hockey and ride horses like his grandpa,” said Breanna Shier, Kreestyn’s mother.

Shier said she heard her son get hit by the trailer while he was biking. She said family members tried to perform CPR on him but it was too late.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, police said in a news release.

Saskatoon police said the bike being ridden by the boy entered the roadway and struck the trailer.

The investigation is continuing but police say speed and alcohol were not contributing factors in the collision.
