Police are searching for three Saskatoon Correctional Centre inmates who escaped while on work detail late Thursday morning.

One inmate escaped from his work crew, who were assigned to a job on the 2400 block of Royal Avenue, at about 10 a.m. The other two escaped about 40 minutes later from an assignment at 33rd Street and Avenue P.

All three are serving sentences for minor offences, Saskatoon police said in a media release.

The first inmate is described as a five-foot-six, 26-year-old First Nations man with short, dark hair. He was wearing a black hoodie when he escaped.

The other two inmates, both white with slim builds and blonde hair, were wearing orange safety vests. One is 21 years old and the other is 25, according to police.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

---- CORRECTION: Saskatoon police initially stated two inmates were wearing orange jumpsuits. The inmates were, in fact, wearing orange safety vests.
