Firefighters were needed to rescue three people trapped inside a destroyed car after a crash on Idylwyld Drive’s Ruth Street exit Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the freeway exit around 7 a.m. A car lost control before crashing into a concrete barrier and hitting two parked cars.
Fire crews used hydraulic spreaders and cutters to free three occupants from the vehicle. All three were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The crash closed the Ruth Street exit for several hours.
