Two youths and one man have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a La Ronge restaurant owner earlier this month.

Simon Grant, 64, was assaulted by the three suspects in Louisiana’s Bar B Que restaurant on April 15. He was taken to La Ronge Hospital, before being airlifted to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. He died in hospital on April 17.

On April 19, RCMP released security footage of three suspects. Police say they were arrested without incident on Friday afternoon.

Austin Bird, 18, and two youths, aged 17 and 14, have been charged with second-degree murder, robbery while armed with a weapon, wearing a disguise with intent, using an imitation firearm in commission of offence, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The two youths cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

All three are in custody. They will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Monday morning.
